There is writing a job posting and – crafting one.
That difference shows in the people you do or do not attract. Your job posting and the way applicants interact with it are like patterns of response to your marketing messages. (Make no mistake, a job posting is part of your marketing with a different target).
Craft using empathy, emotion, and essentials. Make the headline stand-out. Include three of the most attractive benefits to your ideal candidate. A strong headline increases the chances they’ll continue reading your post.
Share a brief story about how this position impacts people. Tell the company story identifying how the product or service helps solve a problem for the end user. The point is to enroll the applicant so they connect with the logical essentials that follow.
Give the essentials of the position. These musts qualify the applicant to continue. The end goal when recruiting and hiring is to find the best, these essentials must do exactly that. This could include challenges to draw out the ambitious or specific benefits that appeal to applicants.
