I was thinking recently how valuable employer feedback can be.⠀
⠀
Specifically when is it a good time to give feedback and how to do it based on the context.
⠀
I decided the best time to give feedback is virtually always right now.⠀
⠀
Right now, during this isolation experience with enhanced use of technology, heartfelt feedback is more important than ever.⠀
⠀
Because the amount of work produced is largely unseen, unheard, and unexperienced.⠀
⠀
So it can seem like the work is not having its intended effect.⠀
⠀
Take time today to reach out to five employees and give them feedback you assume they already “know”.⠀
⠀
Give feedback like appreciation, gratitude, or to let them know they are seen. ⠀
⠀
Because right now, assuming someone “knows” they are appreciated for doing great work, is about the worst time to make this assumption.⠀
⠀
Even if it seems like they should “know”, presume they don’t know and you are the perfect person to let them know for sure.⠀
⠀
It will have an incredible impact on them and you will feel wonderful for having done so.⠀
⠀
In case no one has told you lately, I appreciate you, your support, and for you rising to the occasion to reach out and support others.
