Saying we don’t have time reinforces not having time. Because we would never say something that is not true (obviously).
That said, what gets repeated gets reinforced. Think of it this way, when you say you don’t have time, you create a barrier.
That barrier stands between you and the opportunities looking for you. You reinforce this barrier when you repeat your lack of time.
Say it enough, the barrier between you and opportunity becomes too strong. Causing opportunities to start showing up less, and less.
Not because you do not deserve them, not because you are not worthy, but because they cannot reach you.
Here is what to do about it;
1st – Identify a deeper reason why you say you don’t have time.
If you do not want to do something, say that. You have authorization to say no to people without explaining yourself.
2nd – After getting to your why, look at what you give time to.
Get everything in your head, out on paper. Lighten the mental load you are carrying and get rid of things not aligned with you and your mission.
Doing these two things will reduce the barriers and open up room for new opportunities to join you.
